Sandra is the current ANTSHE Membership Office and long time friend of ANTSHE.  She has dedicated the last 2 years to ANTSHE giving of her time and talents to make the organization better for all. Sandra consistently strives to make positive changes while upholding her responsibilities to her position.  Over the course of the last two years she has revamped the membership database, established procedures and processes that streamlined our membership tracking.  And if that is not enough, Sandra is a full time student, works full time,  and is a mother and grandmother!   Now Sandra needs our help. 

Sandra has been in remission from cancer for 19 years but was recently informed it has returned.  She will travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. soon for extensive confirming testing and treatments.  As a full time student she has limited means of paying for all her expenses like travel and staying in Rochester, making up for lost income from being out of work, and paying for treatments at Mayo Clinic.

A note from Sandy

 I quit high school my sophomore year and I made a promise to myself that one day I would finish high school and go on to my dream of getting a college degree. In the spring of 1991, I received my GED and I am continuing my dream of going to college. I started college in January of 2003 at Dickinson State University. I am a senior this year going for my Bachelors Degree in University Studies with Graphic Design.  It took me a little while to get there but I am here in college and enjoying it very much and living my dream. I have been very busy in college and also the community.

 I have been on the committee for Relay for Life the past three years. Relay for Life is American Cancer Society Signature Fund Raiser. I was selected Team Coordinator to Represent South West North Dakota in The 2005 Great Division Leadership Summit Conference for Relay for Life in Las Vegas, Nevada September, 2005.

 While at Dickinson State I've served in every office position available within SOTA (Students Other Than Average) and have been recognized by many organizations for my service to my campus. I have been a member of ANTSHE since 2004 and was appointed and then elected Membership Officer and am currently serving in this position.

 

 I feel fortunate to be living my dream of attending college and hope to become a second time survivor and complete my senior year. My final dream is to be there to witness the arrival of my 2 unborn grandchildren and see all 6 of my grand-kids grow up!
